Idolatry of worship by prayers to Mary

Do you think that if you simply “go through the motions” you will not actually be doing it?
An “act of worship” is worship.

CATHOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

But what does the divine response say to him?
“I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal.” – Romans 11:4 (NKJV)

There were a number of Israelites who intended only to worship the Lord but they still simply and only bowed down their knee to an image of Baal because of the king’s command. The mere act brought about their disobedience to God resulting to that they were not reserved unto the Lord. The same goes on today in Roman Catholicism with the bowing of the knee to Saint Mary and other saints. Beware of these spiritual dangers. They may say they don’t worship Mary or the other saints but their actions show otherwise.

Bowing down to images is strictly forbidden in Scripture…

“You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.” – Exodus 20:4-6 (NKJV)

When will they realize that if it looks like Mary worship, it actually is!

The mere bowing down to any image is disobedience with God, hence idolatry. It does not matter what importance may be given to the person of whom the image represents. It is still idolatry and condemned by God.

Even without an image, prayers to those other than God are not commanded by Him. When did such even come into the mind of God?

The Holy Scriptures do not teach that the Virgin Mary is our mother. The Scriptures do teach that Mary was the mother of Jesus but they do not teach her as being the mother of God. Jesus Christ, the Divine Son of God, existed since eternity past. The Bible does not teach us to pray to Mary. The Bible teaches to pray to God solely through the name of Jesus Christ and none else.

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, – 1 Timothy 2:5 (NKJV)

Are simple prayers to others than God through His Son Jesus Christ actual idolatry even without the use of images?   YES!
Such will alienate you from God.

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and put before them that which causes them to stumble into iniquity. Should I let Myself be inquired of at all by them? – Ezekiel 14:3 (NKJV)

Some people may not be willing to realize with themselves that they are committing idolatry when they really are. Truly, they separate themselves from God and He will not answer their prayers. Therefore, abandon the worship of Mary and stop praying to her.

The issue is not even whether Mary died or not. Besides, the Church of Rome did not even make their disputed belief of the “Blessed Assumption of Mary” an actual canonized doctrine until 1950. Newer and newer inventions are made by this church continually.

The formulating and promoting of stories about Mary resembling paganism do not honor her. The renaming of pagan idol gods to the names of Christian saints, as the Roman Catholic church has done, adds to the abomination of this sin.

And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.
– Matthew 15:9 (NKJV)

Although Mary was the Mother of Jesus Christ in His humanity, she was not the mother of His deity. Therefore, understand quite clearly that, Mary is NOT the “Mother of God”.

Hebrews 7:1-3 reads, “For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him; To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Do people really think they are doing something else?

It is said that “If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.” The same goes for worship. For if it looks like the worship of Mary, bows down like the worship of Mary, and is praying to Mary then, more than just probably, it is the worship of Mary whether they know it or not. The issue of personal salvation is at stake.

If you still have any doubts that Roman Catholics worship Mary…

This is a picture of the “Our Lady of the Sign-Ark of Mercy” images at Saint Stanislaus, Chicago which depicts the Virgin Mary on the Mercy Seat of the Ark of the Covenant.

As for the real “Ark of the Covenant”, the Mercy Seat is where the invisible presence of God dwells. The replica in Chicago is a blasphemous counterfeit demonstrating clearly the inordinate worship of Mary in Roman Catholicism.

The Antichrist will conduct such blasphemy in the future Tribulation by entering the rebuilt Jewish Holy of Holies, declaring himself as God, sitting himself on the Mercy Seat of God. The Holy Bible refers to this as the “Abomination of Desolation”.

Roman Catholics do not need this graven image to conduct the blasphemous idolatry against God.
They already do that by their prayers to Mary. How much more do you need to see to convince you?
Perceive the direction that you are being led in is not toward God but to modernized paganism.

Don’t be deceived

Despite what they teach, actual worship of Mary does go on in Roman Catholicism. Don’t be fooled when the Roman Church plays this down about Mary. This is only done to convince the “naysayers”.

Roman Catholics have been taught various things locally about Mary. Such as to say “We don’t worship Mary. We pray to Mary. or “We don’t pray to Mary. We honor Mary.” Go to this link and read these Prayers to Mary and see for yourself how much worship goes on. (Note: This page was later taken down, therefore, old content is shown from an archived page.)

When lower levels of alleged “honoring” of Mary is esteemed acceptable by someone, then the Roman Catholics will raise the bar up from honor, to prayer, and to doing things equal to worship.

The Mary worship of Roman Catholicism

Roman Catholicism has three forms of worship. These are latria, dulia, and hyperdulia. It was previously said that hyperdulia was the worship only due for God. Yet, we do see that saints are worshiped in the Roman Catholic Church. At times, even the praise given to Mary is called “hyperdulia” to put it above the praise of other saints.

You may say,”Do not people in the Middle East historically not bow down in respect to people? This is not worship!” When someone bows down to a graven image of a dead person such as Saint Mary, prays to the person, give praise to the person and makes requests of the person do know that this is more than just simple respect. This is called WORSHIP!

What should be done…

Trust in God through Jesus Christ alone for your salvation and pray to God solely through Him. God delegated no others to pray to. Abandon all acts that amount to the worship of others who are not God. Leave the Roman Catholic church and find a church where the Word of God is taught as our sole authority.

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry. – 1 Corinthians 10:14 (NKJV)
