Have you been purged of your old sins yet?

Only through the power of God are we enabled to live godly lives.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36

A discussion of 2 Peter 1:3-11 about being fruitful unto God and sure of salvation…

3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Here is an important exhortation for you to know so you don’t fall short of this…

9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

If your faith is solely in God’s Son Jesus Christ to be saved, then you have already been purged (or cleansed) of your sins and are enabled to live a godly life.
However, if you are believing the Roman Catholic Church that you are not purged of your sins until after you die and go to Purgatory, then you do not have faith in Jesus that your sins are purged and you are still living in them.
By believing the Roman Church you have then a lack of faith. This results in a difficulty building proper virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and charity. Believe the Holy Bible’s own testimony. Have you fallen for the counterfeit faith of Roman Catholicism? Do you believe you can perform such things yourself without a proper faith in God through Jesus?

Yes, you have been purged of your sins already through the work of Jesus but in order to receive this you need to completely trust in Him.

10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Make sure you have a real trusting faith in God solely through His Son Jesus Christ and then the way is ready made for you into holy living and the Kingdom of God!

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36
