I was searching for God but rejected a number of religions due to what I found as their fallacious claims. Yes, I also knew a number of Born-Again Christians. Still, there were matters I found that needed to be addressed about the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

I did not reject Bible Christianity because Christians had a lack of love. Oh, I found them a very loving people and kind to me.

I did not reject Bible Christianity because Christians had a lack of power. I would wonder how some of the born-again Christians knew private things about me which they could not normally know. When I would ask them, they said things like, “Oh, that’s God!” I would look at them and quietly think to myself, “They say it is God, but what is it really?”

I did not reject Bible Christianity because of its message against sin. I knew I was a sinner and could not save myself. I knew I needed God but still, who was the true God? I wanted to believe in the true God, not some fable of one. So, I expected nothing less than PROOF.

The issue was two-fold about my rejection of Jesus. The first issue was that I thought that believing in Jesus was a “knowing faith”. I did not understand that it was a “trusting faith” in Him that saves. So my faith in Jesus was only intellectual and one that did not change my life. The second issue was that I did not believe that Jesus Christ was bodily risen from the dead. I found Born-Again Christians as wonderful people. There were some, who I found later were legalists that were a little off, but even they were nice.

Still, facts are facts. If Jesus Christ is not risen from the dead then Christianity seems like a nice idea but I would have no idea how it could be lived and that it was still premised on a lie. Simply put, I understood then that Jesus was dead. Looking forward to Heaven after death seems comfortably nice and all but still it would have to be proven to convince me. If Jesus did not rise from dead, then why would those believing in Him be?

Why didn’t I believe that Jesus rose from the dead as told in the Scriptures? Do you really want to know? O.K. The reason was what the Holy Bible told me. Does that surprise you? Please let me explain. I was reading through the New Testament when I was a searching agnostic. After I read through the first book of the New Testament, I came across Bible verses in the gospel of Matthew chapter 28, verses 10 through 17.

10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. 11 Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done. 12 And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers, 13 Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept. 14 And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you. 15 So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

I paused there and said sarcastically, “A likely story! What could be more simple than that! The disciples stole His body!” I considered that there was a plot to keep the dream about Jesus alive and this story was invented to maintain it. Still, I kept reading…

16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshiped him: but some doubted.

Well, it did not seem to me that all the disciples were convinced that Jesus bodily rose from the dead with this written here! I would’ve bet there were a number of other people besides them that would have found this a dubious tale. I figured this might have been mentioned by Matthew to account for the many critics to their “manufactured” testimony.

It was like saying, “Hey, you need to keep an open mind even if Jesus does not really look like Himself!”   Let’s face it, folks! Not everybody recognized Jesus was there the moment He showed up risen in places, as they say. I esteemed that everyone was just simply going along with a story, just like in the tale of “The Emperor’s New Clothes”. No matter how many said they saw this king in fancy garments, he was still naked.

WHAT CHANGED MY MIND? The facts! I had found out that the disciples could not have stolen the body of Jesus. The number of Roman guards could have been as much as even 50 or more. All the guards would have had to been sleeping while the disciples rolled a 2 to 2 & 1/2 ton boulder uphill without waking any one of the sleeping guards. If one was waken then all would have been. Then the disciples would have to go in and steel the body. Besides, how would the Roman guards have known that the body of Jesus was stolen by the disciples if they were all sleeping. The story that the body of Jesus was stolen is quite infeasible.

After further research regarding other theories of mine why Jesus was still dead, I realized that it was a provable fact of history. Jesus Christ is bodily risen from the dead! You still don’t believe? You try to disprove this based on the rightly presented historical facts! I tried. Oh yes, I tried and failed. JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN FROM THE DEAD!

What about the disciples that doubted the bodily risen Jesus? I had presumed that their doubt was denying unbelief yet it wasn’t. Read from the gospel of Luke, chapter 24, verse 41 in context…

34 Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon. 35 And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread. 36 And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you. 37 But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they had seen a spirit. 38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts? 39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have. 40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet. 41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

As you can see from another Biblical gospel account, the disciples that did not believe did not because they yet believed not for joy. Likewise, “doubt” is not always rank out unbelief, it can also be from hesitancy or surprise. The word from the Matthew passage for “doubt” is not the usual word for this in Greek. The same Greek word was used in Matthew 14:31 with Jesus’ words after calling Peter to walk on water with Him.

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

Peter did doubt. Yet, Peter did not have unbelief for it was he who walked on water as long as he did and not the other disciples. It is likewise true that the disciples did not express denying unbelief in their joy when they doubted, seeing Jesus risen from the dead.

Other times, the risen Lord Jesus Christ purposely withheld people from perceiving it was Him until He was ready. The fact of the matter is that there were more than 500 witnesses that Jesus Christ was physically alive after it was confirmed that He was previously dead. Jesus was too well known for a mistake to have been made. If Jesus’ resurrection was not true, then it could have easily been disproven.

It only took one little boy to discredit the emperor and prove to everyone, very easily by speaking out the obvious truth, that the king was actually wearing nothing but underwear. The testimony of the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ has survived the tests of skeptics by highly tested evidence. Jesus Himself proved His own resurrection for many days. After all, facts are facts.

Therefore, I found that my denial of Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection was based on false conclusions. Jesus Christ is risen from the dead, alive forevermore, moving in power through those believing in Him. This is the proven fact of history.

All those who place trusting faith in God solely through His Son Jesus Christ receive the forgiveness of all their sins and the free gift of everlasting life. Jesus shed His blood to pay the penalty for us. Call on Jesus NOW!

The Howling Purgatory Room http://maverickchristians.com/2019/05/08/the-howling-purgatory-room/ Wed, 08 May 2019 18:13:52 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=14582 by Theodore Wright.

I had a dream during the early morning of May in the year 2019. In this dream, I was attending a course titled “The Supernatural”. The course was held in a classroom except for one part, titled “Purgatory”. This was in a room some place off campus and had howling ghosts in it. I saw Catholic women, dressed in black, who were going into the room to pray for the dead souls in Purgatory. I could hear these souls howling! I was expected to go into this room by the instructor.

I said, “I am not going in there!” I didn’t believe they were ghosts of the dead howling but that they were actually demons.

I was told by the instructor, “But this is the best part of the course!” I continued by saying, “I’m not going to go in there to pray for the dead!”

He replied to me, “You don’t have to pray for the dead but you still have to pay the indulgence money.” I objected, saying, “I am not going to pay money to the Catholic Church.”

The teacher then replied again stating, “You can pay as little as two dollars!” I continued my objection and said, “I still won’t go in!”

Then the teacher told me, “Then, I will have to fail you for the course.” So I responded saying, “Can we negotiate this?” After I heard the howling in the room a little longer, I woke up.

Yes, this dream was a bit silly, since we do not hear souls cry out from Purgatory which place, in fact, does not exist. Still, in real life, whenever facing this, how do you respond to pressure to do what Roman Catholics are expected to do by their church? Do you have to encounter times such as this? We dare not compromise trusting faith in Jesus by performing actions contrary.

Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil.
– Proverbs 4:14 (NKJV)

Purgatory is a gigantic fraud

Roman Catholic sinful indulgences

Have you been purged of your old sins yet?

Burning flames then the throne of God

Do you seek the Baptism of Fire? http://maverickchristians.com/2019/05/06/do-you-seek-the-baptism-of-fire/ Mon, 06 May 2019 15:17:21 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=14457 by Theodore Wright.

We have often heard about being baptized with the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit. This is often mentioned by Pentecostals and some other charismatics as a second experience which may accompany salvation or may occur later. While we fellowship warmly and freely with Pentecostal believers in Jesus, and have seen and experienced wonderous legitimate moves of God among them, Holy Spirit Baptism is a point of doctrine we understand matters differently.

Baptism in the Holy Spirit actually happens at salvation when someone receives Jesus as Savior and might not necessarily be accompanied by the speaking in other tongues. We do believe in the gift of tongues and speak in them. There are both known and unknown tongues. For more information on Holy Spirit baptism, please see the article on the next page…

Holy Spirit Baptism into Christ and the Spirit-filled Life

What may perhaps be mentioned among Pentecostals is the “baptism of fire”. That we are baptized with the Holy Spirit, speaking in other tongues, which at that time we are also baptized with fire, a holy fervor for the Lord. This may yet get told in other or different ways. While we do recognize that the Holy Spirit does move as fire, like tongues of fire upon the believers at Pentecost, what being “fire baptized” truly means is told in the very passage the expression is quoted from…

Matthew 3:11-12 (KJV)

I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire: Whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

To state this simply…

Baptized with the Holy Ghost is being gathered as wheat in the garner, going to Heaven.

Baptized with Fire is being burned up as chaff with unquenchable fire, going to Hell.

This is found simply by reading the Biblical context. John the Baptist was using metaphors to describe what the coming Messiah Jesus would do. Being “baptized by fire” means to burn in Hell. This is not something for believers in Jesus Christ to seek for themselves nor for anyone else. We are baptized by the Holy Spirit through trusting faith in Jesus at salvation. After this we receive the Holy Spirit at various times, subsequently being filled with Him, which we are also to seek.

THIS IS THE BAPTISM OF FIRE

Are you saying you want to receive this now?

Mary is not the Mother of God http://maverickchristians.com/2019/04/09/mary-is-not-the-mother-of-god/ Tue, 09 Apr 2019 23:23:39 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=12987 Mary is the mother of Jesus who is the Christ, the Son of God, who is God.
Yet, Mary is NOT the Mother of God!

CATHOHOLICS ANONYMOUS

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. – John 8:36

Mary did give birth to Jesus. Yet, Mary did not give birth to the Godhead. She did not give birth to God the Father. Mary did not give birth to the Holy Spirit.

And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name Jesus. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
– Luke 1:31-32 (KJV)

Mary is the mother of Jesus in His humanity. However, Mary is not the mother of Jesus in His Deity. Jesus existed prior to Mary in Heaven. Therefore, Mary is not the Mother of God. When did Mary ever claim to be the “Mother of God”?

Whoever in the Holy Bible ever said that Mary was the “Mother of God”? Who said Mary was to get worship as his mother? The one time in the Bible someone said something to praise Mary, Jesus Himself corrected her…

And it came to pass, as he spake these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
– Luke 11:27-28 (KJV)

Neither is Mary the “Queen of Heaven”, which is a title for the pagan goddess Ashteroth.
Read Jeremiah 44:15-23 (KJV)…

15 Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying,

16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the Lord, we will not hearken unto thee.

17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

18 But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all things, and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine.

19 And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men?

20 Then Jeremiah said unto all the people, to the men, and to the women, and to all the people which had given him that answer, saying,

21 The incense that ye burned in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, ye, and your fathers, your kings, and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the Lord remember them, and came it not into his mind?

22 So that the Lord could no longer bear, because of the evil of your doings, and because of the abominations which ye have committed; therefore is your land a desolation, and an astonishment, and a curse, without an inhabitant, as at this day.

23 Because ye have burned incense, and because ye have sinned against the Lord, and have not obeyed the voice of the Lord, nor walked in his law, nor in his statutes, nor in his testimonies; therefore this evil is happened unto you, as at this day.

The worship of Mary is utter blasphemy against God who alone is worthy of worship.

The plot thickens with my Lois Lane moment http://maverickchristians.com/2019/04/09/the-plot-thickens-with-my-lois-lane-moment/ Tue, 09 Apr 2019 22:51:23 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=14081 by Theodore Wright.

If you haven’t read yet, spin back to the first part of this event at A carousel of dreams.

After I had the dream in 2017 that the Lord gave me about the islands in the Philippines that He was sending us to do mission work, I decided to recall the game I played as a boy about the two islands. After my friends and I created the play money, between the ages of seven and ten years old, I took the rugs of the middle floor of the apartment at home and named them as islands. There were four rugs, two of which I played as a smaller Eastern island next to a bigger Western island. I thought the Eastern island I used was a bit big for the story but I used it anyway. I used to play Matchbox cars and Lego blocks on these “island” rugs.

After a while with this game, I felt that I did not have enough islands, so after I mapped in crayon the rug islands on the middle floor I played on, then I went upstairs to map the rugs there. I went to my room and called the rug in my room the “captital island” saying, “I don’t usually play up here but this will still be the capital island.” After I mapped all the island rugs upstairs, I said, “O.K., these are the Northern islands. Now I will go down to the basement and those will be the Southern islands.” While going down the stairs from upstairs to the middle floor, I saw a runner rug on the stairs, then said, “Oh, here’s another island. Will this be a Northern island or a middle island? Well, I have all the middle islands so this will have to be a Northern island.” Then, I went down to the basement and said, “Oh, no!” I was disappointed. I found only one big rug covering a pile of lumpy boxes placed for inactive storage. I said, “I can’t play on this!” I realized it would be too dangerous to climb on top of these rug covered boxes, though I could play a little bit on its sides if I really cared to.

So, I had the Northern islands where the capital island rug was together with other islands and the one sticking out on the side on the stairs going down, the middle island rugs with the two where I usually played, and the big lumpy rug for the Southern island. Anything sound familiar about this? Sounds a lot like the Philippines and my call from the Lord to go there, now doesn’t it?

Did I know this? NO, I didn’t! I did not at all know what the Philippines was when I was at that age. Even when I was older and later knew my missions call, I did not make the connection. It was not until after my dream from the Lord in 2017 that I decided to recall these things and remembered. I said to the Lord, “Wow! That was there all this time,” I also said to the Lord, “If I told anyone about this, who would believe it? I can hardly believe this myself and it really happened!” That is a lot of clear detail. What confirmation of my calling in the Lord from as far back as nearly 50 years ago! Amazing!

I was having, what I call, a “Lois Lane moment”. If anyone I believed seemed really stupid and missing the obvious it was Lois Lane from the story of Superman. How could she miss who Superman really was? The two men both looked same except for one major(?) point. Take off the glasses and you have Superman. Put the glasses back on and you have Clark Kent. How did she miss this? In the stories of Superman, Lois Lane finds this out eventually to her great surprise and shock at herself.

Yet, I missed the obvious revelation about the Philippines which was deep in my past. Did I forget about it? Actually, I didn’t. I just simply did not perceive this before. How did I miss this? The game I played as a kid was so much in detail as a map of the Philippines as well as highlighting where I would be going. I played this game for so long and knew the details of it. I did not forget the game but I did not see its God-given revelation until God told me about it in the dream.

I found this easier to deal with personally when I realized that God had me find out matters like this each at a set time. Now, let me please ask you, reader… What is Jesus doing in your life? Missed anything? Did you miss something and you don’t know it?

Non-Denominational or Anti-Denominational? http://maverickchristians.com/2019/03/05/non-denominational-or-anti-denominational/ Tue, 05 Mar 2019 17:46:43 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=13825 by Theodore Wright.

Do you attend a non-denominational church that gives you a difficult time if you ever attend another church that is denominational? That is not what being non-denominational is a about. Being “non-denominational” is about not being a member of a church in an association of a name, that is a “denominational” or a named church.

Is a non-denominational church giving you trouble about attending another church? That is not being non-denominational, it is creating a denomination against all others. That is, in essence, is being an “anti-denomination”. Are you an anti-denominational Christian?

That is not what we are here, consequently. Maverick Christians are not generally attracted to denominations but may yet perhaps attend a denominational church. Still, we will not be bound by the denomination. We even may take denominational membership and give it up later to join another denomination! Being a maverick Christian does not does not mean we are denominational but it also does not mean we are necessarily anti-denominational. It is about not being bound as a Christian by any denomination, even an anti-denominational one. We are mavericks.

“Actually, I DO have a name. I am just not bound by a denomination.”

Does this look like cereal to you? http://maverickchristians.com/2019/01/22/does-this-look-like-cereal-to-you/ Wed, 23 Jan 2019 02:22:49 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=13439 by Theodore Wright.

I was asked this question about this product… “Does this look like cereal to you?”

Well, of course it looks like cereal to me.
Do I dare ask what you think it looks like?
We need to beware lest our imaginations run wild.

Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
– Matthew 12:34-35 (NKJV)

This is actually a fine tasting cereal, may I say.

King David gave this advice to his son who would be the next king of Israel…

As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him with a loyal heart and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts and understands all the intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you; but if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
– 1 Chronicles 28:9 (NKJV)

Make this your prayer in Jesus’ name…

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
– Psalm 19:14 (NKJV)

Study the Word of God, the Holy Bible, and have your mind renewed…

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
– Romans 12:2 (NKJV)

Raise up a defense!

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
– 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 (NKJV)

Finally…

Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life. – Proverbs 4:23 (NKJV)

Hebrews talking about Jesus http://maverickchristians.com/2018/12/24/hebrews-talking-about-jesus/ Mon, 24 Dec 2018 19:51:04 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=13074 As quoted from verses from each chapter from the New Testament book of Hebrews…

Hebrews 1:1-4 (NKJV)
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 2:1-4 (NKJV)
Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

Hebrews 3:1-6 (NKJV)
Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

Hebrews 4:14-16 (NKJV)
Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 5:7-10 (NKJV)
who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. And having been perfected, He became the author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him, called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”

Hebrews 6:19-20 (NKJV)
This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7:26-28 (NKJV)
For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and has become higher than the heavens; who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself. For the law appoints as high priests men who have weakness, but the word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints the Son who has been perfected forever.

Hebrews 8:1-6 (NKJV)
Now this is the main point of the things we are saying: We have such a High Priest, who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens, a Minister of the sanctuary and of the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man. For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this One also have something to offer. For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 9:24-28 (NKJV)
For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; not that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood of another— He then would have had to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now, once at the end of the ages, He has appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself. And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

Hebrews 10:11-16 (NKJV)
And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,” then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.” Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.

Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

Hebrews 12:1-2 (NKJV)
Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (NKJV)
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”

A carousel of dreams http://maverickchristians.com/2018/12/16/a-carousel-of-dreams/ Sun, 16 Dec 2018 21:47:07 +0000 http://maverickchristians.com/?p=12930 by Theodore Wright.

The Lord gave me a number of dreams in my life which revealed things to come. Yet none of them compared to these which I mention here now.

When I was 13 years old, I had a dream that I was walking on a beach. On the left was a mountain and on the right was the sea with waves gently coming on the shore. Straight ahead of me on the beach was a tanned asian girl with short hair walking in the same direction ahead of me on the beach. She looked over her left shoulder at me behind her and smiled. Then I woke up. Although I was only the age of thirteen, I was still disappointed to awaken so quickly from this dream with the lovely Asian girl. So I said to myself, “Why couldn’t I have gone up to this girl and talked with her?”

I was mystified by this girl from my dreams for two years. Then, when I was fifteen years old I finally said to myself,“Who is this island girl?” Since I never met the girl, it was after that I forgot about the dream. When I was the age of sixteen, I started to meet and have friends that were Filipinos.

When I met the woman I married, who was from the Philippines, I did not recognize her as the girl from my dream since she had long hair and also because I did not remember the dream. We got engaged, then married. After we got married, she grew her hair even longer.

Then one day, in early marriage, my wife tired of her long hair and decided to cut her hair short. She was walking in our apartment then and turned around. Suddenly, I remembered that dream like I had just had it. It was very clear in my mind. I recognized that it was my wife that was in the dream. I said to her, “Oh, I had a dream about you…” Then I remembered how long ago it was that I had the dream and continued speaking, saying, …when I was thirteen years old.” That was quite startling.

In 2017, I spoke to the Lord about what He said to me before He opened the door for us to share the gospel in the Philippines in 2015. I prayed, “Lord, you said that if I want to go to the Philippines I need to share your word now.’ Isn’t this something You wanted me to do? If you want us to go somewhere else to do missions other than the Philippines, please tell me, because this is something I understood that You wanted us to do.”

Days later, I had a lucid dream. Yes, I had a dream knowing I was dreaming. I spoke to the Lord Jesus saying to Him that I thought it was really great how He showed me when I was 13 years old who it was I was to marry. Then, the Lord spoke to me saying, “Ted, that is not the first time I spoke to you. Remember back when you were a child.”

The Lord then showed me in the dream when I was seven years old, creating play money with two friends, named Ray and Lisa who were four and five years old. We could have had any story about this play money. The play money had the name on every bill “Cool Island”. I believed that North was the way of the hill nearby. Since the apartment I lived in was to the East and their house nearby was to the West, the story was that these were two islands. A little Eastern island next to a big Western Island.

While still in the same dream, the Lord then showed me when I was eighteen years old, how I ran a role-playing game where I used that same story. Except, I wanted to name the bigger Western island “Cool Island” instead of the little Eastern island. Being older then, I considered that I needed a more mature sounding name for this island in the game. So, I changed the name to “Central Island”, keeping the “C” as the capital letter in the name.
Panay and Guimaras

Finally, the Lord showed me in that same lucid dream, the islands of Guimaras and Panay in the Philippines. This is the place the Lord called us to share the gospel and where my wife was from. Again, a little Eastern Island next to a big Western Island. I then woke myself up, since I knew this was a dream. I went to the kitchen where my wife was and told her the dream. She said to me, “Oh yes, and Panay is called the central island of the Philippines.” I had forgotten about that.

I went back to the bedroom and went to sleep again. The next day, I got up and lied down on the floor marveling. I said to Jesus,“It was set. It was fixed. You had this planned all this time.” Yes, I knew our call from the Lord from a number of details He had already shown. Yet, the details about when I was 7 and 18 years old being about the islands we were to do mission work at in the Philippines, I did not realize until then in 2017.

I knew my mother led me into the “Sinner’s Prayer” when I was 4 years old. Yet, I later became an atheist in teen years and later yet an agnostic in early adult years. I did not come to commitment to the Lord until I was 21 years old which was the time I commonly refer to as when I first trusted in Jesus. Still, it was when I received Jesus as my Savior at such a young age that God was working with me. I did not know during that time that it was God all along.
